Sunset & Stargazing Hike – Saturday 18 January 2020

Watching the milky way unfold in the night sky is truly magical. Witnessing it from Sullivan Rock and it is simply unforgettable!
Off The Beaten Track WA invites you to attend the Sunset & Stargazing Hike on Saturday 18th January from 6:00pm, departing from the Sullivan Rock Car Park.
We will hike from Sullivan Rock to Mt Vincent through lush Jarrah and Banksia forest and then out on to giant granite slopes to enjoy the sunset and amazing views from the peak. As we hike back to Sullivan Rock for stargazing, we will witness the forest transform from twilight to darkness. Whilst we devour a delicious gourmet spread, Astronomer Rob Hunt will take us us on a journey of the night sky and tell us about the stars, moon, constellations, planets, then you will have a chance to view it all through a 14 inch telescope. This will be quite a special starry night to remember!
Total hike distance is 5kms, the terrain is quite uneven with a steep ascent/descent so sturdy shoes with good grip are a must, the trail is achievable for most people.
Adults Price: $50
Child Price: $35
Includes: Guided hike, gourmet nibbles, stargazing and astronomy insights & memento.
Time: 6:30pm – 10:00pm
Depart: Sullivan Rock Carpark, Albany Hwy, Mt Cooke.
What to Bring? Camera, water, head torch and spare batteries, a good attitude and big smile! It can get cold out there so bring a warm layer too!
