The City of Rockingham - Naval and Defence Industry Forum is the 5th annual event. This event is designed to focus on the defence industry and opportunities for local businesses in Rockingham.

It will take place at the Gary Holland Community Centre, Rockingham on  30 April 2025. This will be a forum focusing on sovereign maritime capability and opportunities in the West, AUKUS updates, Defence estate and infrastructure overviews, as well as fostering a strengthened local Defence industry. SME guest speakers will provide key information to attendees on their business journey. 

While the agenda is still being finalised, we can guarantee that this year’s conference will be bigger and better than ever. We’re excited to announce that the conference will feature a wide range of expert speakers, Toff Idrus will be our MC for the day, and we’ll also hear from the Mayor of Rockingham, Deb Hamlin. Speakers also include CAPT Ken Burleigh, Siriana Nair (US Consul General), Maria Rennie (UK Consul General), Alana Ford from Perth USAsia, Helen Loundes from Henderson Consolidation, Linda Dawson from JTSI, Gary Hale from Curtin University, and Andrew Widdis from the Defence Centre of Excellence, in addition to industry leaders from major primes, including Jeff Crawford from Lendlease, Brent Carey from Austal, and Matt Francis from Ventia. 

We are thrilled to announce a live cybersecurity hacking demonstration by Emu Exploit, along with a DISP (Defence Industry Security Program) briefing by Paula Fernandez. These sessions will provide essential insights into the evolving security landscape.

This event is a free event for businesses in Rockingaham and the wider region.  It is hosted by the Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce and supported by the City of Rockingham.
