3 Quick Ways to Kick-Start Your New Year

New Year resolutions

I don’t call them resolutions because then I would have to wait for new Year. I like to goal set and then take pride in achieving them. A bit like ticking things of a To-Do list. The harder they are, the better the feeling of achievement.

Whether they be personal or business related, I think the two are interwoven. After all a good day at the office means you come home all happy and elated. A bad morning at home, sees you at the office for the day in a ‘Mood’.

So here are 3 Things you can do that reflects on your personal and business life. And they are my list for January 2017.

  1. Write a mission statement or mantra.

Mine is:  Everyday is a Good day, even the bad ones and that is so you can tell the difference. It means what it means. Appreciate everything!

  1. Create an Environment fostering your Success.

Means clean out your work desk of pens that don’t write, stale lollies and expired phone cards. Remove the leftover xmas decorations from around your computer screen. Clean out your messy wardrobe at home. How can you let the good vibes of 2017 in, if you haven’t made room for them! Feng Shui is a great belief. Look it up!

  1. Build Value Everyday.

That is not just within yourself or your life. Do something nice for others and it will come back in spades. Pay someone a compliment, drop by a bag of cookies, follow up on a question someone asked you at work.

Business is all about high-touch/ high-trust relationships. In this age of dramatic distraction, it’s especially easy to forget that. People do business with people they trust and people who make them feel special. Create a ritual that ensures you reach out to three possible or current customers every day. This isn’t about asking for the order; this is about adding value. The more people you help, the more profits you’ll see. Send them an article. Connect them with a business opportunity. Do something to help them close in on their greatest dreams. They’ll soon help you close in on yours.

Oh and I had to add one last one. Get yourself an image of you Go-To happy place. Whether it be a motivational saying or a mystical idyll. Focus on getting there and being there. (it’s the thought that counts)
